In Opposition of Gun Control
How would you feel if someone took away your guns? What if that was your only means of protection? Some people have no way of protecting themselves against various threats without guns. Think about the Second Amendment, it gives us the right to bear arms. Even with gun control in affect, the criminals will still find ways of obtaining them. The crimes will still take place. What about hunting? If you take our guns away, we can’t hunt for food, or even for the sport of hunting. Taking our guns away is a horrible thing and should not be done.
The main reason that gun control would be awful for Americans is simply for protection. If we get robbed or threated by a criminal, we would not be able to defend ourselves. You also have to think about attacks from wild animals. If we do not have guns and we get attacked by a harmful wild animal, we have nothing to scare the beast off or defend ourselves with. For this reason alone, many people agree that having our guns taken away is a bad thing.
If you think about it, what makes our country so great? Most people might say that our rights and privileges would be an answer. So, why would President
Obama want to take that away? One example of this would be that Joe Biden, our Vice President, is leading the Obama administration to look at gun laws and prevent any danger (Associated Press). It proves that Obama is trying to take away our rights as Americans. Our Second Amendment is the very thing
that he is trying to take from us. It is our right to bear arms. Without our rights or privileges, we may as well not call this
America. These are the very rights that America was founded on. It is very important that we consider our past and how our history happened. This country was founded with guns and it should stay the way our forefathers envisioned it. We should be able to keep our guns.
Even if they decide to pass gun control laws, what makes anyone think that criminals will not get guns? In the world today, if a criminal wants something bad enough, it is going to happen. They will find ways of getting guns, and we will be defenseless. That is one of the main reasons they are trying to pass these gun control laws. The government’s main reason for getting rid of guns is to stop the violence and crimes (Olson 2). The crimes may not be as bad, but they will still happen. It does not matter what anyone does, there will still be bad people with guns looking to do harm on other innocent and defenseless people.
There is another thing you have to consider before taking our guns away. Most Americans like to hunt. Without guns we will not be able to do that. It could be
hunting for sport or even for food to stay alive. This is one huge reason why we need to keep our guns. Some families thrive on hunting and the food that it supplies. Others do it for the thrill of the hunt or even for the money from the pelts. I know for a fact that taking the guns away from the hunters would raise a lot of havoc itself. Hunters need guns for several reasons. Mainly because it is a way of life and it helps them survive. Without guns, hunting would not be possible. Without hunting, most people would be lost. We just can not take guns away from our citizens.
All of these reasons can show how much we really do need guns in our lives. They are essential for most people to live and survive throughout their entire lives. It is also a symbol of freedom as well. It shows that we can own guns and will not be intimidated by criminals or government threats. Taking our guns away is like taking our freedom away. Gun Control laws should not be passed. Taking our guns away is a horrible thing that could happen and should not be encouraged to do so.

In Support Of Gun Control
Do you feel safe when guns are all around us? How would you feel about laws to protect us and our families by taking guns and ammo away? This would help protect the citizens of America from criminals. It would reduce the amount of robberies and shootings that keep escalating. Another reason taking guns and ammunition away would be great for America is that it would prove we do not need weapons to survive. Most people would agree that it’s an amazing idea to reduce ammo and gun possession in our country. We should pass gun laws.
The main reason to get rid of guns would be to reduce violence and crimes. There are many criminals that use guns for robberies and murders (Agresti 2). Without these guns the criminals would not have weapons to commit these crimes. An example of this would be last summer's mass shooting at an Aurora, Colorado, theater and the January 2011 shooting (Steinhauser 2). America would be a much safer place without guns.
Do you ever think that we do not need guns to survive? We have so many options now, that weapons are not needed. We no longer need weapons to get food or for fur clothing. Food is being grown and made organically which gives us the proof needed to take ammo and guns away for good. It proves that we do not need to hunt and kill animals to gain food. Clothing is all made now, so that means hunting and killing animals is no longer needed. It is proven that guns cause more harm than good (Williams 2). Without guns our society would become a more peaceful and more calm.
All of these reasons prove that guns are not worth the problems. More and more people are getting killed and hurt from guns. If we pass gun control laws the murders will be reduced and not as many people would be getting killed. Guns need to be taken away and ammunition cut.
