My Autobiography
I was born in Coudersport Pennsylvania. My father, at the time, was only sixteen when I was born, and my mother on the other hand was eighteen. Because they were so young, it was hard to raise me. So, my grandparents stepped in to help.
I lived with my grandparents almost my entire life. At the age of two, we moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I lived
there until I turned five. After I turned five, we moved back to Coudersport for educational purposes. My grandparents thought it would be good to raise me in a small town with people I know.
When I turned six my mother wanted to take care of me. So, I lived with her for two years. In those two years I was moved several different times to several different schools. I went to Port Allegheny, Otto- Eldred, Smethport, Blairsville, and
Shinglehouse. After being moved around so much, I was getting uncomfortable. I wanted to live with my grandparents.
At the age of eight, I moved back in with my grandparents. I was content on going to one school and not being switched all the time. I went to Coudersport School from second grade to sixth grade. After sixth grade something fantastic happened to me.
My grandparents decided that they wanted to become my parents. I was all for it and agreed to become their son. They have been there for me through my entire life. Nothing would change except my last name. To me, that was no big deal. So, at the age of eleven, my last name changed from Parrish to Furman, and I was thrilled. I could finally call my grandma, "mom" and my grandpa, "dad." This all happened at the end of sixth grade.
I wanted to try being home schooled. It was nice for about two years, until I missed having friends to talk to or just seeing all the kids every day. In my ninth grade year, I went back to public school. This time I did not go to Coudersport. I wanted something better for my high school education. I wanted to go to Austin high school. In ninth grade, it was hard adjusting to something new after being home schooled for so long. But after a year, I adjusted and was comfortable in this new school. The teachers were nice and the students made it feel like it was one big family.
I have been in Austin since then, and I have loved it. I have always been one to enjoy smaller areas. My life has been rough, but I think it is finally turning for the better. It is now my senior year at Austin, and I have been making the best of it. I have joined many groups, organizations, and several sports. Sports and music have been a big part of my life. I like playing sports, and it has shown throughout my life. I have always been athletic, and it has been an outlet for the pain and anger that has been in my entire life. I am ready to continue my life and make the best of it.
